The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS)
TRS is a retirement plan in which all full time educators in Texas public schools are required to participate. It will provide a permanent monthly income to you when you retire equal to your number of years working in jobs covered by TRS multiplied by your final average compensation multiplied by 2.30%.
Fort Bend ISD 457 ESP
The 457 ESP is a voluntary savings plan where your payroll deduction contributions and earnings grow tax-deferred. The investments are offered online with no commissions, restrictions or penalties. Education Service Center Region 10 oversees the plan administration and investments.

Fort Bend 403(b) Plan
The 403(b) Plan is a voluntary savings plan where your payroll deduction contributions and earnings grow tax-deferred. Education Service Center Region 10 oversees the plan administration. The investments in the plan consist of annuities offered by insurance companies and mutual funds offered by financial institutions. The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) oversees what companies and products are offered.

Fort Bend FICA Alternative Plan
The FICA Alternative Plan is a 457(b) retirement savings plan provided for substitute teachers, part-time, part time staff and other employees who do not work enough hours per or otherwise do not qualify to participate in TRS. Rather than have these employees contribute to Social Security, from which they may receive a very small benefit, the District provides a plan in which they will receive all of their contributions plus earnings when they leave the District. Employees in the plan are required to contribute 7.50% of their pay.

Fort Bend ISD 401 (a) EIP
The 401(a) EIP is a plan where the District contributed funds for employees to a plan as a match to their own contributions to the 457 ESP and/or the 403(b) Plan and was also tied to certain District goals. Contributions to the plan have been discontinued.
